How do I arrange a newborn session with Emberwood Photography?
Clients can book a session by getting in touch via the contact form on my website, email, phone, or Instagram DM; whatever feels easiest for them.
I offer newborn sessions either in my in-home studio or in the comfort of the client’s own home. Maternity and family sessions are available outdoors at a range of beautiful locations.
I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for newborn sessions, to ensure availability around your due date. That said, I understand babies arrive on their own timeline, so I’m always happy to accommodate last-minute enquiries where possible.
How do I prepare for a newborn session?
For newborn sessions, there’s very little for parents to prepare. I provide all wraps, blankets, props, layers, and knitwear, carefully curated to suit my soft, timeless style. Mums are also welcome to choose from my client wardrobe if they’d like something beautiful and comfortable to wear.
For added convenience, I even provide newborn nappies, so you don’t need to worry if you forget anything. I’ll guide you through everything prior to your session so you can simply arrive, relax, and enjoy the experience while I take care of the rest.
What kinds of props and equipment do you provide?
For newborn sessions, I provide a carefully curated collection of wraps, blankets, layers, knitwear, and simple props, all selected to suit a soft, neutral and timeless style. My studio is fully equipped with professional lighting, backdrops, and posing equipment to ensure your baby’s comfort and safety at all times.
For in-home sessions, I bring everything needed to create a beautiful setup within your space, using natural light where possible while still achieving a consistent, polished look.
Backgrounds and styling are kept minimal and organic, allowing the focus to remain on your baby and family connection.
What does a newborn session with Emberwood Photography look like?
Newborn sessions are relaxed and baby-led, typically running for 2–3 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding, settling, cuddles and changes without feeling rushed. Sessions are usually held during the day, when babies are most settled and lighting is ideal.
Studio sessions take place in my in-home studio, while in-home sessions are held in the comfort of your own space. The pace is calm and unhurried, with plenty of breaks as needed to keep both baby and parents comfortable.
What kind of packages or products are available?
I offer a range of flexible photography packages to suit different families and budgets. Packages typically include a selection of professionally edited digital images, with the option to add heirloom-quality printed products such as fine art prints, albums, and keepsake pieces.
Clients can choose a package that best suits their needs, with the ability to upgrade or add products after viewing their gallery. Full details are shared during the booking process to ensure everything is clear and tailored to each family
