What began as a small business directory for the professional photography industry in 2018 — under our original Find A Photographer Pro brand — has grown into Miss Directory, a supportive hub for women in business across Australia.

Today, Miss Directory is a space where female small business owners can:

Meet the Team

Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Miss Directory founder Kate Jackson has dedicated her 25-year career to creating, growing, and supporting small businesses — for herself, her family, and countless others.

Kate spent many years as a professional photographer, real estate industry marketer, educator, and digital creator. Always her own boss. Always dedicated to creating a life that worked for her — her children, her health, and the happiness of everyone around her.

A self-professed IT nerd, Kate loves building online platforms and digital resources for other small businesses. Her inspiration behind Miss Directory was to help women in business who don’t have the time, skills, or energy to build their online brand — a job she loves that many business owners hate.

Kate is also deeply passionate about mental health support for women in business, special-needs parenting (as a mum to two autistic children), and foster care, an important job she shares with her husband Pete as they care for two bonus kids they adore.

Of course, she doesn’t do all this alone! She’s supported by a talented and energetic team of marketers who make sure every business on the platform is given the love and attention it deserves: Meet Makenzy, Jess, and Dahlia.

When she’s not working, Kate can usually be found in her mum taxi, delivering a kid somewhere, working on the latest home renovation project, or hanging out with her dogs, Maltese Shih Tzu Dougie and Mini Dachshund Autumn.

But let’s be real — she’s a small business owner! So she’s usually tapping away on her laptop, building the next Miss Directory page, catching up on too many streaming services, or listening to her favourite true crime podcast (Guilt by Brevity Studios is the latest!).
